The deportees, who had been caught up in a sweeping immigration enforcement operation, were part of a larger group of individuals affected by policies that many human rights advocates are calling cruel and unjust.

The Impact of Trump’s Mass Deportation Plan

The policy driving these deportations is part of Donald Trump’s notorious mass deportation initiative, which was broadcasted during his campaign. Some deportees, after reaching India, have expressed a desire to return to the U.S. legally or seek asylum, despite the continued challenges. Their hope remains: that one day they will be able to find a place to call home, free of shackles and fear.
